Lauren’s story

The short of it:

Well, hello there! I’m Lauren LaBelle. Thanks for visiting. I’m a writer and editor from New England. I’ve worked in various positions from senior writer to proofreader to waitress to associate editor and way beyond in my career. My style is fresh and playful, because I just want my audience to be having as much fun as I am. As a person, I’m upbeat, authentic and driven by ideas.

The long of it:

Growing up in rural NH gave me a lot of time to make up stories. My hobbies included playing Barbies, staring out the window hoping a car (any car) would pull into our driveway, and pestering my sisters to play with me. But it turns out, that’s a great way to grow an imagination.

When I got older and went to college, I majored in Journalism and Public Relations at Northeastern University. I also found a magazine internship that would jump start my career as a writer. I worked hard, fetched coffee, wrote the events calendar and eventually became and editor. Which all showed me that showing up and bringing your best, original self will eventually pay off (well that and working for free).

After my college years, I moved around. Both new jobs and new cities were exciting ways to experience the world. I had a ball. I eventually had a family and settled in, and now here I am in Providence RI. My favorite place.

I’m happiest when i’m engaging others, and passionate about authenticity in everything I do. It’s the real, sometimes funny/sometimes messy parts of life that are relatable and that’s what good communication is all about—relating to people and inspiring action. My hobbies include all the great social ingredients: cooking, entertaining, talking about books and writing.

But it’s ideas that give me the greatest thrill of all. I love brainstorming in a room full of inspired people. I love making ideas better. and I love when the right idea sparks in my thoughts and then flames into an obsession.

I could go on all day, but instead, let’s chat in real life. Thanks for visiting, and I hope to hear from you soon.

Cheers!- Lauren
